The City of Brampton is Getting a New Dog Park

Dog owners in the City of Brampton’s Heart Lake community will soon have a new place to let their dogs loose to play and explore. The construction of a brand new leash-free dog park is nearly complete. The dog park is conveniently located along the Etobicoke Creek Trail at Camden Park East close to Jim Archdekin Recreation Centre. The city posted notices of a new dog park in 2021. Construction of the park began in the late winter of 2022 and chain-linked fences were erected in early March. Once officially opened, this new currently unnamed dog park will become the fifth leash-free dog park in Brampton.

The city currently has four leash-free dog parks - Duggan Park, White Spruce Park, Bramalea Ltd. Community Park, and Chris Gibson Park.

The city requires all dogs that visit dog parks to be vaccinated, licensed, and neutered or spayed. Dogs that are aggressive to humans or have a history of biting in leash-free parks are not allowed.
